After losing the previous bids to host the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympic Games, PyeongChang has finally gained the opportunity to host the 2018 Winter Olympics Games.
This will be the first Winter Olympics Games and the second Olympics Games in South Korea.
PyeongChang Mountain Cluster and Gangneung Coastal Cluster will be the two main venues for the 2018 Winter Olympics. There is a total of thirteen stadiums will be used to host the Olympics Games.
Visitors can reach PyeongChang by taking KTX which take about 70 minutes from Seoul to Gangneung. There is also YeongDong Expressway Route 1 and Route 2 that connect Gwangju and Wonju which expected to distribute the traffic volume between Seoul area and Gangwon Province.
