Jipangi (지팡이) @ Sunway Pyramid

Had been so lazy for the past month and now I am back! (2015 01 11)

As I am a Korea Lover (addicted to everything from Korea after I came back from there), today I found something new that come from Korea. My sister called it as “Ice Cream J” due to the shape, but the actual name is “Jipangi” (지팡이).

It is actually Ice Cream in the J-consonant corn cone. There are 2 flavours of the ice cream which are creamy vanilla and premium chocolate. The vanilla taste is quite normal but the chocolate flavour is a bit bitter as it is more toward the strong dark chocolate taste.

You can order it separately or 2 flavours in 1 cone as per what I ordered.

3 choices available for you:
Creamy Vanilla @ RM7
Premium Chocolate @ RM7
Mixed Flavours @ RM9

On that day, we were lucky that “Jipangi” was having their new flavour testing which is
mango flavour. The mango flavour is more toward yogurt ice cream in mango flavour which
taste sweet and sour.

Where to find “Jipangi”?

Little Korea @ Ampang

Had been heard about this Little Korea in Ampang for quite some time and finally I make my
trip to visit there. It was an unplanned trip and I just try my luck to reach there. The Little Korea located opposite of Ampang Point Shopping Complex. There are many buses from KLCC or
Ampang Park LRT station that will stop at this Ampang Point Shopping Complex.

The area was quite dark as I reached there almost 8pm and most of the shops were closed. Due
to the visit of Korean Navy team to Malaysia, there was a welcoming event at there for the
Korean Expat in Malaysia.

There are a few grocery marts that selling Korea products at Little Korea. However, there were
only 2 marts operated at that time. After visit both of them, I found that items in “필 마트” are
selling at the lower price.

There are a lot of Korean restaurants. I decided to go for dinner at HanWoori which is more
crowded compare to the others. As I was alone, I decided to join another Korean customer
who was also alone for dinner.

I had ordered a simple Spicy Fried Pork. There are about 6 types of “Ban Chan” and they
also serve watermelon as dessert after the meal. Different from other Korean restaurant, they
only serve plain water for free instead of green tea. However, you can still order green tea
or some other drinks if you want.

Uncle Chong that i met in HanWoori
Here are the products that i purchased from the mart. First one is my favourite drink that i always have when i was study in Korea. The second is a soft jelly in peach flavour.

 How to reach there?

Take bus from KLCC or Ampang Lrt Station to Ampang Point Shopping Mall.
Cross the pedestrian flyover to the opposite

Caffé Bene @ Jaya Mall , Petaling Jaya

Hurray!!! Finally I had able to try in the food and drinks in Caffé Bene. After the opening of
the first Caffé Bene in Sunway Pyramid, I was always interested to try their Bingsu. However, it
was always full house and I have no chance to try even though after few months. Luckily there
is a new branch in Jaya Mall, Petaling Jaya.

Bingsu is my favourite dessert when I was in Korea. There are 5 variants of Bingsu served
in Caffé Bene – Pat (original flavour), Coffee, Green Tea, Cookies & Cream, Strawberry.
However, the Strawberry flavour is still not available when I visited the branch in Jaya Mall.

I had tried their Green Tea Bingsu (Double), Cookies and Cream Bingsu (Single) and
Caramel Cinnamon Bread.

There are 2 sizes for Bingsu, “Single” for smaller portion or “Double” for bigger portion.
Their “Single” is enough to be shared for two person.

Green Tea Bingsu (Double)
Cookies & Cream Bingsu (Single)
Normally people will come for coffee or Bingsu, however the bread is quite nice as well. The Caramel Cinnamon Bread that I tried is crunchy at the outer layer and soft in the inner part.
